Manage your WordPress with Claude or ChatGPT

Everyday website tasks can mean navigating multiple WordPress menus. The new MCP connector in AI Site Assistant lets customers connect their website to Claude, ChatGPT or another compatible AI agent and handle supported tasks through conversation.

The connector gives Claude, ChatGPT, or other compatible AI agents access to a selected set of WordPress tools. Once connected, customers can ask questions about their website and perform supported actions directly from the same conversation.

For example:

"List all installed plugins and themes, including their versions and activation status, and tell me which ones have updates available."

The compatible AI agent can retrieve the findings and explain them. With read-write access, it can also perform supported changes, such as updating a plugin or replying to a comment.

• Maintenance with fewer menu visits: Install and update plugins, update themes and manage automatic updates.

• Everyday administration: List and create users, moderate comments and change supported website settings.
• Website content management made easier: List, create, edit, and manage WordPress posts and pages, review media, retrieve website information, and manage WooCommerce products — all directly from your AI conversation.

On a website with the feature enabled, open Settings → MCP in the WordPress dashboard and follow the instructions to connect a compatible AI agent.

Availability depends on the hosting brand and website configuration. AI account requirements and workspace policies may affect setup.
